JAKARTA (!)- Kondisi kesehatan penyidik Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK) Novel Baswedan terutama mata kanannya berangsur pulih dan kini dapat membaca tulisan, sedangkan penglihatan mata kirinya masih kabur.
Juru Bicara KPK Febri Diansyah mengatakan hingga hari ini perkembangan kesehatannya cukup baik. Mata kanannya mengalami perkembangan signifikan, telah dapat membaca tulisan seukuran judul surat kabar, dan mengenali wajah. Namun, mata kiri masih kabur.
Novel Baswedan pada 11 April 2017, seusai shalat subuh di masjid Al-Ihsan dekat rumahnya, disiram air keras oleh dua orang pengendara motor. Air keras itu mengenai mata Novel sehingga ia dirawat di Jakarta, dan saat ini dirawat di Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC).
Febri mengatakan Novel juga diperiksa mendalam oleh dokter ahli telinga hidung, dan tenggorokan (THT). Berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan, terdapat luka bakar akibat asam di rongga hidung Novel. Rongga hidung sebelah kanan mengalami luka bakar di bagian luar, sedangkan rongga hidung kiri mengalami luka bakar sampai ke bagian atas yang terletak dekat mata.
“Tidak ada luka bakar di saluran dalam pernafasan, dan dokter juga sudah melakukan pembersihan rongga hidung. Cukup banyak darah baik darah beku maupun darah dalam bentuk lendir yang menumpuk di kedua rongga hidung, telah dikeluarkan,” ungkap Febri.
Saat ini tim dokter Singapura pun sedang menunggu proses pertumbuhan kulit bagian rongga hidung yang terbakar tersebut. Dari foto mata yang dilakukan pada Rabu (19/4), dokter menerangkankerusakan yang ditimbulkan akibat zat asam ini cukup parah, khususnya di mata kiri.
Terdapat tiga alternatif pengobatan yang akan dilakukan. Pertama menunggu selaput mata tumbuh alamiah. Kedua, bila pertumbuhan selaput mata lambat atau terhenti, maka akan `dipancing` pertumbuhannya dengan menggunakan membran yang terdapat pada plasenta bayi. Ketiga, atau pilihan terburuk adalah jika selaput mata tidak tumbuh terutama di bagian kornea.
“Bila hal itu terjadi maka dokter akan mempertimbangkan risiko kegagalan jika pencangkokan dilakukan,” kata Febri.(arh)
