POLMAN (tandaseru.id) – Polda Sulawesi Barat berencana menerapkan tilang elektronik atau electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) sebagai tindakan hukum para pelanggar lalu lintas dalam waktu dekat ini dan Kabupaten Polman menjadi yang pertama menerapkannya.
Demikian disampaikan Kapolda Sulbar Irjen Pol Eko Budi Sampurno saat melakukan kunjungan kerja di Polres Polman, Selasa (16/03).
Irjen Pol Eko Budi Sampurno, mengatakan rencana ini akan dirilis pada pertengahan April 2021 mendatang, bersamaan dengan wilayah lainnya yang masuk prioritas tahap pertama perluasan pemanfaatan ETLE.
Sebanyak 20 kamera CCTV dan 1 speedcam telah disiapkan untuk beroperasi di sejumlah titik tertentu yang berpotensi terjadi pelanggaran lalin atau kecelakaan akibat kendaraan bermotor.
Dia menyebutkan, melalui ETLE diharapkan masyarakat lebih patuh pada aturan lalu lintas sehingga mengurangi kecelakaan kendaraan bermotor. Serta, meningkatkan kinerja kepolisian dan mendukung program 100 hari kerja Kapolri baru.
Pemberlakuan ETLE ini katanya untuk mengurangi risiko anggota Polri bersentuhan dengan masyarakat dan menyadarkan masyarakat untuk patuh berlalu lintas.
“Satu pelangaran yang tekait pemakaian helem, tidak pakai safety belt (sabuk pengaman), pakai handphone dan melawan arus itu akan ditindak,” ucapnya.
Selain itu, pengendara yang menerobos lampu merah, ugal-ugalan dan melebihi batas kecepatan maksimal yakni 80 km per jam juga akan ditindak.
Saat E-TLE sudah diterapkan, maka surat tilang beserta bukti pelanggaran akan dikirim ke alamat rumah pelanggar lalu lintas.
“Pengawasan ini dilakukan selama 24 jam dan menggunakan teknologi yang cukup canggih, sehingga masyarakat yang melanggar dapat terlihat jelas dari monitor kita,” pungkas Kapolda Sulbar Irjen Pol Eko Budi Sampurno.
