DOHA (Tandaseru) – Pemerintah Qatar menegaskan sikap politik luar negeri dengan menolak melakukan normalisasi hubungan dengan Israel.
Penolakan itu dilatarbelakangi alasan kondisi Palestina yang hingga saat ini masih terjajah. Watar menyebut normalisasi bukanlah jawaban atau solusi konflik Israel-Palestina yang sampai saat ini masih berlangsung.
“Kami tidak berpikir bahwa normalisasi adalah inti dari konflik ini dan karenanya tidak bisa menjadi jawabannya,” kata juru bicara Kementerian Luar Negeri Qatar Lolwah Rashid Al-Khater, dilansir AFP, Kamis (17/9).
Qatar memandang inti dari konflik berkepanjangan Israel dan Palestina adalah penjajahan yang dilakukan Israel. Rakyat Palestinya, kata mereka, bagaikan hidup tanpa negara.
Sebelumnya, Kesultanan Oman dalam peluang untuk melakukan normalisasi hubungan dengan Israel. Namun demikian, sumber intelijen mengatakan Oman khawatir hubungan bilateral yang terjalin baik dengan Iran bakal retak jika hal itu dilakukan.
Middle East mengutip sebuah sumber di Uni Emirat Arab (UEA) yang disampaikan kepada surat kabar Israel, Israel Hayom. Surat kabar itu melaporkan Oman saat ini adalah satu-satunya negara di kawasan Teluk yang mempunyai hubungan bilateral dengan Iran.
