JAKARTA (!)-Sidang paripurna Dewan Perwakilan Daerah secara aklamasi memutuskan Oesman Sapta Odang sebagai Ketua DPD RI dan Nono Sampono serta Damayanti Lubis sebagai wakil ketua DPD RI.
Sidang sempat ricuh karena perbedaan pendapat soal masa jabatan pimpinan DPD antara 2,5 tahun atau 5 tahun. Putusan MA yang sudah membatalkan Peraturan DPD No 1/2016 dan Peraturan No 1/2017 diabaikan dan para anggota tetap memilih pimpinan baru.
Sebelumnya dalam pencalonan perwilayah terdapat enam calon pimpinan DPD. Namun akhirnya mengerucut karena calon masing masing wilayah mengundurkan diri. Wilayah barat calon tinggal Damayanti Lubis, wilayah tengah Oesman Sapta Odang dan wilayah timur Nono Sampono.
Dengan terpilihnya Osman Sapta menjadi ketua DPD, maka kursi pimpinan parlemen yaitu MPR, DPR, dan DPD diduduki oleh ketum parpol yang merupakan pendukung pemerintah.
Sebelumnya, Setya Novanto, dan Zulkifli Hasan yang sudah lebih dahulu memegang dua posisi yaitu sebagai ketum parpol dan pimpinan parlemen. Zulkifli terpilih sebagai Ketua MPR lewat proses pemilihan di awal periode sidang pada 2014 silam.Sementara Setya Novanto memegang tampuk pimpinan DPR RI. (arh)
